An experimental indie pop singer/songwriter from the San Francisco area. Known as a literate, ever-curious songwriter and sonic technician, Vanderslice has released several character driven concept albums over the past few years, his latest the 2007 release Emerald City. Vanderslice also started Tiny Telephone , a small recording studio, in 1997. Boasting a variety of respected and experienced house engineers, Tiny Telephone gained a reputation as an affordable recording outlet for San Francisco 's indie rock community.

Grizzly Bear began as a home recording project for Boston-bred experimentalist Edward Droste who laid the groundwork for the band's otherworldly debut album on a small hand-held tape recorder while holed up for 15 months in his Greenpoint, Brooklyn, apartment. His homespun D.I.Y. effort took on new life with the help of multi-instrumentalist Christopher Bear, a Chicago native who had worked in a diverse range of musical projects ranging from laptop electronica to free jazz, who added additional instrumentation and vocals to Droste's stripped-down sonic blueprints.

The resulting album, Horn of Plenty – a pet project originally meant only for Droste's friends—eventually circulated through New York 's underground music scene, with its unique blend of acoustic instruments and layered vocals. In 2006, the band released their second full-length album, Yellow House. Grizzly Bear will be on tour with Radiohead this summer.

Cold War Kids began in the Fall of '04 with jangly guitar, hand claps, and a Harmony amp in a storage room atop Mulberry Street restaurant in Fullerton , CA . Since then, Cold War Kids have self released 3 six song EP's on Monarchy Music , and toured relentlessly.
Much like Blue Note Artists of the '50's, the music of the group walks hand in hand with its graphic design. Bass player Matt Maust is responsible for creating the visual aesthetic by constantly documenting the band, friends, strangers, and situations both on tour and at home.

Matt Wignall , the band’s resident documentarian, friend, and confidant, travels with the band and captures the most candid of moments. The shots below were shot by Matt and Matt, as well as the rest of the band. The design facet is implemented through gallery shows, artistic web design, and supplement design books coinciding with music releases. Ultimately, Cold War Kids intent is to present themselves not just as four musicians, but as an expanding artistic community in which everyone is invited to take part.
