The artist formerly known as the Smena8M would like to announce that following some soul-searching and remodelling, the artist will now be known under the name Smena Symbol.

After a period of intense reflection, the SYMBOL has identified 'artistic differences' with its former work as the cause – "Basically, I've changed the way I operate".

The SYMBOL's main differences from the Smena 8M are as follows:

Film advance & shutter cocking will now be achieved with 1 single-stroke lever
includes hot-shoe flash sync
Film release & rewind easier to operate

Keeping the Smena Deadstock Dream Alive

The legendary SYMBOL whose hits include "How can we be lovers if you're digital and I'm analogue?", and "I've got you in my triplet 43 lens view", is keen to reassure Smena fans that although some things have changed, other features will always remain.

"I am part of a strong LOMO heritage and I still have my original Leningrad crafted 3 element T-43 lens. It was created by the same engineers responsible for the LC-A Mintar. I've got a punchy colours and mad contrast – ain't no one can deny my roots".

The SYMBOL's iconic focus and exposure settings have defined its career since it joined the 'Deadstock Movement' in 1993.
