As we dig, search, and pick to find the greatest and most tempting deadstock jewels on planet Earth, sometimes we come across a little gem that catches us totally unprepared. As you already know, we are hopelessly devoted and completely addicted to the wonders of PANORAMA. Imagine our delight when we were blessed with a whole crateful of brand-new, never before touched Konica Panorama Disposable cams! Make sure that you’re sitting down for this:

  • 17mm super-wide angle lens with internal panoramic cropping
  • Pre-loaded with 12 exposures of 400ISO color negative film
  • Made in Japan
  • Out of production deadstock (expired 2002)
  • Exclusively available at Lomography.com
  • Regular 35mm processing – can be developed anywhere!

Discontinued years ago, the Konica Panorama Disposable uses a super-wide lens with rear shutter blinders to create a beautiful and realistic panoramic image. While other cheap cameras also crop the top and bottom of an image to make it appear “panoramic,” this Disposable Diva’s 17mm lens takes it to the next level by imparting a special wide-angle effect that’s one-of-a-kind.

Take fair warning when shooting this camera – as repeated use will surely evoke a “gateway” to full-fledged Horizon addiction. Before you know it, normal photos will look way too thin, and your eyes will naturally point at 45-degree angles. It may be too late already – as reading the rest of this newsletter could be enough to trigger the reaction!

We are sitting on the last remaining stock that will – most likely – be available anywhere. 400 pieces are in-stock and you can save a few pesos by grabbing 5 or 10 pieces at a time. The film inside has long expired – but that will pay off with the unpredictable color & contrast shifts that we all dream about!

The first child of Lomography, Nil Antonius, is the beautiful son of Matthias Fiegl (Lomographic Society World President) and Sally Bibawy (Lomographic Society Product Director). Nil has graciously provided a crop of his latest and panoramic Horizon shots from his recent 14-day adventure in Japan – accompanied by Mom & Dad! As Swing-Lens Social Club member since September 2005 (coincidentally, the same month he was born), you could correctly say that Lomography runs through his blood. We start them out young in these parts! Mr. Antonius is interviewed by none other than Cat – our third BYH participant and a hardcore Horizon honcho in his own right.

Taste the splendor of India for yourself though this stunning collection of 26 radiant Horizon images – depicting such places as the Taj Mahal, Lake Gadi, and Humayun’s Tomb. Or, in the words of the author herself:

Every journey begins as a search. Searching for the images and ideas in our minds that draw us to foreign countries. Yet the most important moment of a journey is when we forget all plans and stop searching. When we let go and surrender to a foreign country, experiencing life with all senses. This book shows what I found on my journey through India. It is not a documentary of Indian life but one fragment of my personal puzzle of the world. Moments of peace and beauty offering hope because life can be so difficult. And then again, very simple.

The book consists of 26 gorgeous Horizon image “plates.” Each book is hand-bound and hand-printed by Ms. Lauff herself on premium 200 gram archive-quality paper. Her “deep print” technique lends a rich, vintage look to each print. As a Horizon veteran of over 10 years Ms. Lauff knows a thing or two about evocative, stunning panoramic images. Production is limited to 1000 pieces.
