Mr. Shin Yasuhara concluded that the world was in desperate need of a new 35mm film rangefinder. He envisioned a combination of classic style and modern production features all executed with a meticulous attention to detail. With this in mind, he set out to create Yasuhara Ltd. The world's smallest camera maker. In 1998, he presented his first creation, the T981 rangefinder to the world. After a production run of several thousand units, he then introduced the T012 a fixed lens brother with a wide-angle lens and elegant electronic features. Shortly after, Mr. Yasuhara's company folded - as his labor-intensive and exacting production could not compete with the oncoming rival rangefinder products and the never-ending march of digital imaging. These beautiful instruments produced by a true visionary and engineering genius were lost to the world forever. Until today.
Through our contacts in Asia, we had the honor of meeting Mr. Yasuhara and purchasing a strictly limited quantity of these deadstock gems. These super-rare cameras are exclusive to Lomography.com, and cannot be purchased anywhere else. Be fast - as once these beauties are sold, there will be no more!
