It is our sacred mission to draw on millions of wild, rapid, delicate, energetic, armpit-sweat-niffy and cherry-blossom-smelling, sexy snapshots from the dust-crusted archives of Lomographers all over the world, and to project them onto vast surfaces in breathtaking live shows with dozens of projectors controlled by the most subtle of twitches from our VJ's tender hands at the controls of tonnes of technical apparatus as they ride the riffs and beats of the 21st century. Our projection programmes localise the sharpest of masterpieces by worldwide Lomographers in an absolutely endless pool of zillions of snapshots taken with all Lomography cameras. And then with our little programmette and its jockeys, we whirl this extremely cool mix of raw material onto the inner skin of the party's cell in perfect tune to the latest sounds. What we don't do, is psychedelic virtual rainbow rhubarb courtesy of WinAmp. But what we do do extremely, extremely well is real life, wild people and animals, weird places and situations from upside-down positions – the sex & drugs & rock 'n' roll of snapshots, the experiences of, and shot by, people like you and me!

We thrive off Lomographic images from the vast WorldArchive in Vienna , where untold numbers of analogue treasures are stored within the walls of Casa Lomo, or digitized Lomographs from the online archives, where thousands of users busily upload their images relating to different themes on a daily basis. These images form the basis of Lomography visuals. The VJs collect the vast numbers of images continually being shot everywhere, and blast them in the brightest light of the projectors at the clubs, festivals, museums and other excellent lively or abandoned locations around the world. Theme-specific work is a key concept for the Lomography VJs. Each event is unique, every live show is worked out afresh with a specific theme and in collaboration with our partners. To cast the wildest and most enthralling images onto the walls, we can mobilise the Lomographers of the world via the Internet, and set them the challenge of shooting thousands of photographs quickly on almost any theme required. This means that our Lomography VJs can react with enough flexibility to actually turn up TODAY at YOUR party, regardless of whether it's in Taiwan or Santiago de Chile.

The Lomography VJs use digital and analogue technology either separately or in combination. The approach to be taken depends on the space; the projections respond to the space, they melt into it. For this reason several projection surfaces, screens of different formats, are used: projections for either large-scale surfaces or incorporating small but fine precision screens carefully positioned in the space. The spatial concept is developed for each event with the Lomography architecture team. Both the digital video image as well as the slide projectors can react on a musical level, the software used reacts automatically to the music and (with practised use of various commands) can produce any number of different patterns. The audio and the visual levels are coordinated with extreme precision to form a synthesis. The result is a visual manifestation of the music, visual music. The Lomography VJs work closely with different DJs on an international base to conceive packed all-night events and clubbing sessions. The key objectives are to rock the house, present enthralling visual worlds and get people shaking.

The concept for the contents and aesthetics employed by the Lomography VJs has been tried and tested with great success in the course of numerous Lomography projects and invitations to international festivals: Sonar/ Festival for Advanced Music in Barcelona (2000, 2001, 2002) at the, Exit Festival Creteil (2003), Designer Bloque in Tokyo (2001), Photokina in Cologne, (1998, 2000 ), Kunsthalle Wien (2002) and at many clubs and galleries in New York, Oslo, Tokyo, St. Petersburg, Vienna, Milan , Zurich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Cairo, Lisbon etc.
