A few years ago, we donated Colorsplash cameras for a dazzling art project called Dream So Much. The four participating artists were each given a pristine white camera to customize and decorate as they will. The results were devastating - as ordinary paint and household materials transformed each Colorsplash into a stunning masterpiece. One particular camera, dressed to perfection using only adhesive stickers, really grabbed us. The man behind this particular creation is Dalek - a Brooklyn resident and one of the most exciting men on the graphics scene today. Known for his signature "space monkey" character, Dalek is famous for his bold colors, precision linework, and mind-blowing composition. He also shares his namesake with the iron-bound enemies of the original Timelord...Doctor Who.

Building on Dalek's beautiful work with the Colorsplash, we pitched him an idea: how about lending your full-blown creative force to a custom and breathtaking special edition of the Lomography Supersampler - the original queen of multi-lensed cameras? |

He agreed, and the rest is history in the making...our first bonafide, artist-customized and strictly limited-edition Lomographic camera. With a launch scheduled for this Fall, the special edition will include custom Dalek graphics on the camera & packaging, and a brand new 144-page book of artwork, photos, and YOU. |

That's correct, as with all things Lomographic, our Community's input is the key ingredient to make our sauce spicy. We want you to be a part of this project from the ground floor. Lomography and Dalek are issuing the call for any and all Supersampler images that adhere to following theme:
“Urban, suburban, and rural blight-ridden scenes and architecture - as seen through the multi-panoramic lenses of the Supersampler. Snaps of signs, graphics, and street art. Capture 4-frame modern landscapes – from the towering “Blade Runner”-like city mazes to the sublime quiet of an overgrown and rotting factory that nature has reclaimed for herself. Action is the key: when your subject cannot move, then your hand and camera must. Emotive, monolithic, and overpowering things and places: shaken to and fro, twisted left and right, and z-o-o-m-e-d in and out are the order of the day. People and animals should be kept to a bare minimum.”
Deadline: Thursday, Sept 8th. Get cracking! Got it? Here’s some more details:
- Images must be shot with the Supersampler.
- Minimum size is 1800x1200 pixels. Upload as many images as you like at www.lomography.com/dalek
- Chosen lomographers will be published within the custom Dalek Supersampler book with a name credit in the back. You'll receive 3 complimentary copies of the book and 25 piggypoints for use within our online shop.
- Submission of your image imparts to Lomography the international rights to publish it within the stated Dalek book, and use it for promotion connected to this project. Ultimate ownership of the image remains in your hand.
