COLETTE N°7: INCLUDED WITH EACH COLETTE FISHEYE CAMERA
This new installment of the colette audio compilation series was inspired by the number 7 and the French philosophy of art forms represented as numbers - particularly cinema, which is recognized as number 7. This double CD compilation has a total of 31 tracks.
On CD#1, Michel Gaubert and Marie Branellec deliver their track selection as the soundtrack to an imaginary film. Find yourself swimming your way through rockabilly, tiki-like Hammond organ-erias, and then deeper into the dark caves of electro-pop. Splash your face with new wave, and dive on down into the Marlene-Dietrich-style, "Rettet die Wale" (Save the Wales), - far away our favorite track. Overall, this is a very elegant collection that assembles seemingly unrelated songs in a surprising, delightful, and very French way.
CD#2 is mixed courtesy of Vitalic, the electro sensation. Sources differ on his origin (French? Ukrainian?), but everyone agrees on his overwhelming talent. For the first time, he has assembled an eclectic and very personal selection of his all-time favorite tracks. Truly, he is a contemporary Marty McFly when it comes Lomography's yearly "Enchantment Under the Sea".
Both discs are neatly packaged inside a sea-green case that will sparkle fond memories of your grandma's plastic travel-soap-container. Available only at Lomography.com and at colette in Paris. |

COLETTE: PARIS' PREMIERE BOUTIQUE
colette first opened its doors in March 1997 situated along 213 rue Saint-Honoré in Paris. With the aim of re-inventing the concept of retail, the brand adopted the tagline "styledesignartfood" to its 700+ square-meter space. The colette world is one of constant unexpectedness and surprise. A spontaneous, unique and entertaining mix of influences and inspiration from around the world. A world spanning three-levels where hi-tech meets fashion. Art blends with high fashion & streetwear. Books are teamed with music. Beauty compliments design objects and cinema is screened whilst people meet, greet and eat in the downstairs water bar. Truly, colette is well deserving of its reputation as one of the world's most sophisticated, tasteful, inspirational, and exciting places to shop. |
