Documentary On Lomography On BBC Four

21:00 (GMT) Feb. 19 on BBC Four

For the whole of last year we had a relentless companion following our LomographicFootsteps. Alex Graham, a director and producer at the BBC, was working on a filmic stocktake of the LomographicWorld, its history and the people involved. Every bit as attentive as he was thorough, Alex followed us from one Lomographic Embassy to the other, from one exhibition to the next event, from the morning meetings to the waltzings in of the last night-owls. He followed us around St. Petersburg, Moscow, Vienna, Hong Kong, the Caucasus, Paris, London, Lisbon...

He riddled us with questions, rummaged meticulously through our archives for old film footage of exhibitions, parties and tours, and for ten thousand Lomographs...And with his insatiable curiosity and idiosyncratic manner he grew into our hearts.

The result is a sixty minute documentary to be broadcast for the first time from 9pm-10pm (GMT) on Wednesday 19 February on BBC Four.

We shall miss our chaperone, but we are awaiting the results with anticipation!

Snap Happy Days at The V&A in London

Victoria & Albert Museum, Feb. 15-23

To mark the broadcasting of the documentary: Fabian Monheim, LomographyLondon Ambassador presents the Snap Happy Days  in the V&A’s Contemporary Space between the 15 and 23 February. A unique exhibition about snapshot photography involving   lomo cameras, polaroid’s and photobooths. The show will be opened on the 15th with an extremely large and empty gallery containing a minilab and a very white and bare wall.

The idea is to fill every bit of white space by the 23rd of february. Fabian: "The only catch is that we want you to take the pictures and you to decide what goes on the walls. This is not just a purist lomo show, everyone with a camera is invited,  the general public, minoxographers, nikonauts, everyone and anyone. This is your chance to test your skills against a field of auto focus lovers and digital freaks. Now you can show the world once and for all exactly what you and your lomo are all about."

The LomoLondon experts will be on hand with equippment, helpful hints and guidance and will be looking for the Snap Happy Champion!

Everybody can have the chance to exhibit in the V&A
Here's how: you can pick up the competition worksheet from the lomo gallery in London or download the PDF now, then post the completed worksheet back to the V&A by feb 22nd.
