There's wayyyyy too much to tell about the 'Lomo At Home' exhibition at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2003; about the incredible LomoWalls with thousands of Russian Lomographs; about the vast space, which our design team transformed into a dream Lomographic Island and everybody's favourite place to meet at the fair; about all the artists, writers, musicians and friends from all over the world; about the photo, dance, vodka and wine sessions; about Tobias Rüger and his jazz trio Die Schwindler; about the 'body performance' by DJ Pomassl; about our dear Georgian Russian friend, painter and writer Alexander Djikia and his stories of Moscow in the 1990s; about Viktoria Barkova's remarkable voice and her erotic poetry; about many Lomographic Ideas for new projects, including plans for next year's special theme at the Book Fair: the Arabic World...
The planet's newest Lomo Embassy, in Dubai, was officially launched on Friday 17 October at 'Flash!' It was a glittering arts event featuring the LomoWonderLand exhibition that was produced in and toured Asia last year, DJ Tiga from Montreal and Dubai-based designer Saadia Zahid, who caused a stir with her update on the 'Kandourah' (traditional clothing for Arab men in the Gulf) as well as plasma screens at the back of the club looping Chadiyo's Beirut enlomofied video art. But it was the awe-inspiring LomoWall that people can't stop talking about down in Dubai.
Architect Sally and Spindoctor Amira flew in specially from Vienna to swear in the new ambassador: and in a loaded 48 hours they took care of the construction of the towering zigzagging, arresting LomoWall on the M-Level outdoor terrace – supported by 9 Pakistani carpenter whizzes and the Embassy team. From 5 in the morning, through the unforgiving heat of daytime Dubai to the never-ending real LomoParty with hundreds of Lomo-inflicted guests, and on to the secret After-Party at a Sheikh's stunning beach house. The trip will most definitely have consequences: a Dubai Lomographic Tour is on the cards for next year.
The Dubai Embassy is starting a series of Friday parties in December for the LWL project (details in the event section soon).

The Lomographic Embassies in Paris, London and Berlin, in cahoots with their much-loved partners, are going into action from next week on: Rent or buy one of the new LomographicFlasher cameras, and take part in a very distinguished little artistic movement – send or hand us your most exciting Serial Flasher action on small discrete 'enlargements'!
The best shots will be collected for our special little Secret Flasher publication ...only to be available to the Flashing contributors. It will also be on display at Serial Flasher shows in January or February in each of the three cities. So be there or be straight.

“Festkochen" (German for: cooking feast, cooking firmly, cooking a good deal) is all but an ordinary cooking competition: In cooperation with FM4, one of our favourite radio stations, we were looking for the most incredible Austrian cooking maniacs, most visionary recipes and the wackiest ideas for a special dinner party at home.
The mind-blowing cooking parties took place during the summer months all over Austria, hosted by the cook, his friends and the Lomographers, and were decrypted lomographically in full scale. Six finalists from each of the six categories “old school, spicy, love, royal, global and freeee” shall now compete against each other at the grand final cooking feast at Nelson’s in Vienna this upcoming Sunday. An exclusive experts jury will be served two courses by each cook and his team and will be evaluating carefully their creations of unique culinary delights as well as the idea and the presentation.
The award ceremony at the end of the jury dinner will nominate the Festkochen Star 2003, followed by a big LomoParty in the clubbing Lounge of Nelson’s - free entrance for all LomoFriends from 10pm, Sunday, November 2003 - Nelson’s, Paniglgasse 14, 1040 Vienna.

Natalie Zwillinger recently won the alternative video awards in Israel, and is now working on a Space Invader exhibition showing her Lomographs in an unusual manner.
Drap-Art inaugurates the exhibition 'Recycled Xmas, Another Type of Market', forming part of the Circuit Gòtic. It is a group show of designer objects and artworks by various artists who use recycling as an aesthetic resource. With this show La Carbonería, Drap-Art's new space, ends its first year of activity and its participation in the Year of Design. Designated Lady Ambassador Tanja will include a Lomographic Action in the show: Just Shoot The Circuit!

Lomography World League special events are scheduled in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taipei on 4th January. Be ready, warm up your fingers, don't use your brain, jump and snap. Top secret competitions will enable you to win bonus points for your LWL 2003 submissions. 16 pictures are worth 16,000 words is another project that will be spreading across Asia soon.
